Who Carry the Decisions
The programme is designed for two groups of people: owner-managers of small and medium-sized businesses, and middle managers in larger organisations. Different roles, same problem. AI decisions are landing on your desk, and the training available so far has been either too technical or too shallow.
You do not need a background in technology. You need the same qualities you bring to any other significant business responsibility: sound judgment, a willingness to ask questions, and the honesty to test your own assumptions. The programme supplies the AI-specific knowledge and the thinking framework. You supply the business context.
For organisations operating in or selling into the EU, there is also a regulatory dimension. Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires providers and deployers of AI systems to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy among their staff. This programme is a structured, evidenced way of meeting that obligation for the people whose decisions matter most.

Directing, prompting and collaborating with AI tools to produce genuinely useful outputs. The quality of the human input determines the quality of the result, and it is a learnable skill.
Critical Evaluation of AI Outputs
Assessing AI-generated content for accuracy, bias and fitness for purpose. Every output is treated as a working draft from a capable but junior researcher, never as a final answer.
Informed Decision-Making About AI
Deciding when AI is appropriate, when human judgment is irreplaceable, and what governance is needed. Including the confidence to say no, and to defend that decision.

Calibrated Thinking
Calibrated Thinking is the intellectual spine of the programme. It combines two established disciplines, Critical Thinking and Calibrated Scepticism, into a single habit for engaging with AI outputs: scale your trust in proportion to what you can actually verify.
The framework exists because AI presents a problem that older thinking disciplines were never designed for. Critical Thinking and scientific scepticism were both built for human-to-human interaction. AI outputs are different in kind: fluent, coherent and confident even when they are completely wrong. The programme teaches you to apply three questions before acting on any significant AI output. Is this claim verifiable? What would it cost me to be wrong? Do I have independent evidence for this?
Participants begin with the Calibrated Thinking Personal Assessment, which identifies whether your current risk is over-trust, under-use, or an inconsistent mixture of both. The programme then develops the habit deliberately, session by session, against your own live business decisions. By the end, the three questions are not a checklist. They are how you think.

What's Included in the Programme
- Six live weekly sessions of two hours each. Mixed teaching throughout: live demonstrations, guided exercises, and discussion, never a two-hour lecture. Designed for working managers, with a strictly limited between-session commitment.
- Your own AI adoption plan, built as you go. Each week you write one section of a board-ready AI adoption plan for your own organisation, and in Week 6 you present the finished plan to your intake for structured peer review. You leave with a working document your board can act on.
- Live demonstrations in every session. See AI succeed, fail, and hallucinate in front of you, including demonstrations you can replicate at your own desk the same week.

Sessions are discussion-based, and the questions come from your business: the AI proposal on your desk, the vendor claim you cannot evaluate, the output your team is already relying on. Working alongside managers from other sectors sharpens the thinking further, because the same patterns of hype, risk and opportunity appear everywhere, and seeing them in someone else's business makes them easier to spot in your own.
